We're back from Anime Weekend Atlanta 2016, which was an epic weekend with over 28,000 anime fans and whatnot running wild. In this post-con podcast, Kent is joined by his AWA roommates Jacob, Nick, Travis, and It's MANIME co-host Shawn Wilson to cover quite a bit!

At the end of this month, Propeller Anime takes a field trip to Hotlanta to enjoy Anime Weekend Atlanta, the largest and best anime convention in the southeast. This is a trip we look forward to every year and it will be our SEVENTH year in a row hosting panels at AWA.

Our Anime Weekend Atlanta Schedule!
We have some exciting news to announce for the upcoming Anime Nite Orlando, including the winner of our tournament that YOU voted on!
This Thursday night is a very MANLY edition of ANIME NITE ORLANDO at Bikkuri Lounge! (RSVP here!) We announced that our main feature is the classic and brutal animated film, Fist of the North Star. It's kinda like the the popular TV series, completely reanimated with high amounts of detail and MASCULINE VIOLENCE, which we all know you love.
To celebrate, we'll have a special ANIME DRINKING GAME for those who are of legal drinking age! We call it The Seven Shots of Hokuto!
We also held a tournement over the last two weeks to determine what would play with Fist of the North Star. Each round's winners would be determined by your votes until we had an ultimate winner! We are excited to announce that right now!
It was quite the shocker, but Cromartie High School won the tournament, beating Toriko, Sakigake!! Otokojuku, Rainbow, and finally Jojo's Bizarre Adventure to win the first ever It's MANIME! Nite Orlando Tournement!
Cromartie High is a pretty funny show, with very short episodes. We'll be showing 4 hilarious(and manly) episodes of Cromartie High, thanks to you guys who voted!
But that's not all! We'll be opening up It's MANIME! Nite Orlando with a very MANLY episode from the granddaddy of all of MANIME, Golgo 13! Get yourselves ready for a violence gekiga adventure and be sure to avoid windows!
Fist of the North Star, Cromartie High, and Golgo 13, all in one night. That right there is why Propeller Anime is the greatest anime club in the entire galaxy!

It's that time of year for one of the most fun and exciting Anime Nite Orlando events yet! It's MANIME! Nite Orlando! An anime event FOR MEN BY MEN! (Ladies are also welcome.)
Thursday, August 21st at Bikkuri Lounge! (1919 E. Colonial Dr.) Doors open at 8pm! No Cover! 18+ with valid ID!
It's a celebration of violence, justice, headbutts, manly tears, exploding bodies, and beef jerky! (Actually, outside food and drink are not allowed.) This ELECTRIFYING night is guaranteed to put some hair on your chest!

Our main feature of the night will be the manliest anime of them all, Fist of the North Star! In the not-too-distant future of 199X, nuclear war has ravaged the earth and the world has fallen to chaos. The strong rule the weak with powerful martial arts and only one man can stop them: Kenshiro!
Kenshiro posesses a secret fighting technique called Hokuto Shinken that makes enemies explode into a violent mess when he strikes their pressure points! It's amazing. On his quest to find his beloved fiance Yuria, he fights gangs, madmen, former friends, and even his own brothers! It's an epic if there ever was one.

AFO turns 15 and we'll be celebrating with them from July 25th - July 27th at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive! It's going to be quite the party and even Goku and Sailor Moon will be there! (Seriously, AFO has an a great guest list this year!) Make sure you get your passes and hotel before it's too late!

Propeller Anime Events at Anime Festival Orlando 15!

You should know the deal by now. However, we know have our full lineup to announce so here is what we'll be showing this week!
We're going to start off the night big with the classic and legendary Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders! We've shown the new television series at our Best of 2012 event and also at Knightrokon. Now it's time for a new adventure with the third generation of the Joestar bloodline, Jotaro Kujo!
Long story short, Dio Brando didn't die and has taken over the body of former foe Jonathan Joestar! This triggers the living members of the Joestar family to develop familiars called "stands." Except Jotaro's mom cannot handle that and will die unless Jotaro and friends go to Egypt and KILL Dio Brando once and for all!

There is also a DOG named Iggy who is also a stand user. All the stands have their unique abilities and what is cool about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is the outcomes of battle do not come down to who is strongest, but who is the most cunning.
Next up will be poll winner Sakigake!! Otokojuku! At lot of staff who worked on Fist of the North Star worked on this and some would go on to work on some obscure anime called Dragon Ball Z after.
Momotaro drops out of a prestigious high school to go to Otokojuku, a school that is the final chance for all of Japan's most fearsome delinquents. Why, you ask? TO REFINE HIS MANHOOD. Otokojuku isn't just any high school, it is the MANLIEST high school on the entire planet.
The mastermind behind this is Principal Edajima Heihachi. At this male-only school, students go through grueling training, harsh living conditions, and have life or death battles so that they can graduate and become the leaders of Japan's economic, political, military, and cultural sectors. It's a satire of Japanese nationalism that also celebrates the manly spirit.
Our feature for the night will be a very dangerous anime infamously known as Mad Bull 34. (Available from Discotek Media.) If there is one thing you should come out and see at Anime Nite Orlando this year, Mad Bull 34 would be it. (And yes, two months in a row of anime featuring police officers!)
Mad Bull 34 is an anime that clearly demonstrates that the law and justice in America are two completely different things. In the worst district of New York City, the government is corrupt, cops are on the take, and gangs, pimps, and pushers have brought the city down to a whole new level of despair.
But one cop has decided he will march on his own path of justice and take back District 34 by any means necessary! His partner is rookie cop and goody-two shoes Daizaburo "Eddie" Ban, who will be along for a wild ride and will have to man up if he plans to survive.
Mad Bull 34 and this particular Anime Nite Orlando is not for the faint of heart and viewer discretion is advised. With that said, you must be over 18 years of age with a valid I.D. in order to enter Bikkuri Lounge. Once you're in, get ready for a very exciting night filled with testosterone, violence, tragedy, justice and more!
The Lineup For June 13th's Anime Nite Orlando!
Coming hot off the heels of Knightrokon, we have our next Anime Nite Orlando! It will be Thursday, June 13th at 8pm! The location will be Bikkuri Lounge in downtown Orlando at 1919 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando, FL!

This event is going to be hot-blooded, fierce, and filled with testosterone because the theme for June is It's MANIME! featuring anime covered from our legendary convention panel! We're gonna make it rain beef jerky and headbutts while showing you anime that will put hair on your chest!
WARNING: THE CONTENT OF THIS ANIME NITE ORLANDO WILL BE EXPLICIT
Our main feature will be Mad Bull 34, the anime documentary about an unlikely duo of police officers in New York's most dangerous police district!
They will take on the most rotten and corrupt of the Big Apple's seedy underbelly by any means necessary and we do mean ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
Leading into that will be decided by you awesome people! We have a poll on the side of our page for this week featuring prime choices such as Fist of the North Star, Golgo 13, Berserk, Space Adventure Cobra, Jojo's Bizarre, Adventure, and Sakigake! Otokojuku!
We'll also have prize raffles and drink specials. Two for one beers all night, plus $3 well drinks, and $5 Crown Royal and Three Olives! Plus, Bikkuri is open for dinner so bring in some dinner to enjoy with your MANIME! Thus event is free and we expect to see you there!

Anime Nite Orlando: It's MANIME!
In less than two weeks is Knightrokon at the UCF Student Union in Orlando, FL! The event takes place June 1st & 2nd and Propeller Anime will certainly be involved with panels, a contest, showings, and a sweet party! (RSVP on Facebook!)

Do you like high school anime comedies? Of course not! This panel will introduce you to the action-packed world of giant robots and hot-blooded pilots. There will be explosions! There will be melodrama! This isn't about your dad's copy of Robotech!
The Brutal Kings of MMA Manga!

Mixed Martial Arts is popular around the world and in Japan, manga has existed for such combat even before there was UFC! We take a look at how the genre came to be and compare the two kings of MMA manga, Baki the Grappler and Tough!

From Gunbuster to Evangelion. From FLCL to Panty & Stocking. This panel will be covering the awesome history of one of Japan's most controversial animation studios.
